Pre-Blog

From the reading “City of Robots,” I thought of many things that I have experienced firsthand in my life when it comes to living in a fantasy reality. There is one specific part in one of the theme parks in Florida that has nothing but animatronics and is scripted for an audience. These animatronics make it feel like we are in a different time frame such as the past or future. I think that most fictional worlds that are created for entertainment are put before our time era and in the near or far future. Many just say it is a way for kids to express their imagination and inspire them to become part of the future or teach them something about history. Now being an adult, I see this form of entertainment as a very close version of reality. I admit I would still go there for entertainment purposes, but now I have a little bit of critique as I go there. I am very much aware of how closely related these things that are made for entertainment are to reality. I think that everybody has their own perception of reality based on the things they’ve seen because of their experience with life, and none of the things at these amusement parks really phase me in a way. The only part of the amusement parks they have in Florida that I thoroughly enjoy and almost wish I was a part of is the Star Wars universe. Ever since Disney announced that they would be dedicating the section of their park to Star Wars only, I have been counting down the days till that day comes. Using me as an example, I know I have always wanted to be part of that universe so bad because I think it is so cool and amazing. I will be completely honest and say that I wish that I could someway shape or form become part of the Star Wars universe for first hand experience. I cannot wait to see what they have in that section of the park so I can relay it back to class and give my insight.
